Sunlites is a member of the New York Landmarks Conservancy Professional Circle and serveral of our restoration
projects have been approved by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission.
Sunlites restores historic landmark stained glass and completed the single largest church
stained glass restoration project in New York City (1998) in the past twenty years, building a
workshop atop a 13 story interior scaffold for an immense project at St. Jean Baptiste Church
in NYC at Lexington Avenue and 76th St. We removed and restored over 5000 sq feet of historic stained glass in
nearly 100 windows commisioned in Chartres, France by the Charles Lorin Studio in 1914.
Mr. Clark is the only stained glass artist to create new stained glass for St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC since the cathedral was completed, having made eight secondary stained glass pieces in the cathedral in addition to
completing numerous restorations and a free standing commemorative stained glass artwork commissioned by John Cardinal O'Connor in 1995 to commemorate Pope John Paul II's visit to New York.
Sunlites can create new windows for your Church, Temple or building to match other stained glass windows, or can design completely original new windows. Whether it's an entire sanctuary, a complete commercial wall of new, custom stained glass or a single window, any style of glass art
you envision can be created for you by Mr. Clark.
Established in 1983 and located in Rockaway Park, NY for over 23 years, professional artist and Master
Craftsman, Patrick Clark is available by phone or email to discuss project specifics. Mr. Clark
personally performs and directs all hands-on work with his small crew of specialty craftsmen, each with
over 10 years full time experience in professional stained glass studio work and stained glass conservation.
Sunlites is one of the very few studio's able to produce museum quality matching painted stained glass faces, hands, robes, drapery and ornamentation found in antique European church windows. Professional vitreous, kiln fired painting is
not a lost art at Sunlites.
Isolated pieces of broken antique glass in stable stained glass panels can be replaced on site without removing your window.
We've restored hundreds of antique panels from:
The Munich-Bavarian Studios;
Mayer & Co., Zettler Company, Royal Bavarian Art Institute
French Studios;
Ch. Lorin Studios, Gabriel Loire, Chartres, France
American Studios;
Charles Connick, Louis Comfort Tiffany, John LaFarge, DaPrato Studios, Willet Studios, John Gordon Guthrie, Henry B. Young, JR Lamb Studios and other less famous studios.
Our new replacement painted pieces in St. Patrick's Cathedral and other churches are virtually undetectable.
The shop specializes in troubleshooting and solving all specialized problems related to restoration, repair
and structural elements, and handles projects of any magnitude.
Most of Mr. Clark's new stained glass windows are in the New York City area and Long Island, but works are also installed throughout
the United States in Seattle, Phoenix, Vermont, Connecticut, Oregon, Idaho, Washington state, Texas, Florida and Colorado.
